Dr. Alexandra Maki is a dedicated general surgeon based in Louisville, Kentucky, where she has been making a positive impact in the community for over 10 years. Originally from Canada and then south Georgia, Dr. Alexandra Maki earned her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine before matching into general surgery residency program at the University of Louisville. Louisville is now where her and her family call home.

Since completing her residency in 2014, Dr. Alexandra Maki has exclusively practiced at Norton Audubon Hospital, where she has developed a strong passion for community general surgery. With a particular interest in hernia repair, she has pursued additional training in robotics and complex hernia procedures, allowing her to tackle both simple and intricate cases with precision and care.

Dr. Alexandra Maki finds immense fulfillment in the positive outcomes she achieves for her patients through surgical interventions, whether it’s repairing a hernia, removing a gallbladder, or excising a mass. Her commitment to patient care is evident in her skillful and compassionate approach, where she strives to provide the best possible surgical solutions tailored to each individual.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Alexandra Maki is a proud and loving mother to her two amazing children who keep life busy and filled with joy. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, gardening, practicing yoga and finding balance and rejuvenation in the great outdoors.
